Inter-Library Loan
Physical monographs, 10% of electronic monographs and journal articles that are not available in the Magdeburg University Library collection can be ordered via the interlibrary loan. Prerequisites are a valid membership in the University Library and an interlibrary loan account.
To set up an interlibrary loan account, please contact the circulation desk (weekdays, 08:00 a.m. – 05:00 p.m).
Costs
- The service is free of charge for OVGU employees and students.
- Guest users pay a fee of €1.50 per interlibrary loan request.
- In special cases (e.g. copy orders > 20 pages) additional fees may apply. You will be informed of this during the ordering process.
Ordering Process
- Search for your desired title in the union catalogue (GVK)
- You initiate the order by selecting the Loan Request option on the right-hand menu bar and following the instructions on the screen.
- Journal articles or parts of a work up to 10% are ordered using the Copy Request option.
Notification and Pick-Up
- You will be informed by e-mail as soon as the media is available at the circulation desk.
- An overview of your orders can be viewed via your interlibrary loan account.
- Loan periods and conditions of use are determined by the lending library. It is not possible to extend loan periods.
- If orders cannot be delivered, we will check availability via other interlibrary loan channels and inform you by e-mail.
Please note that the availability is subject to the restrictions of the Copyright Act (UrHG, especially § 60c).
